A Matter of Consciousness

What we are now experiencing are the consequences of a culture that lacks soul and doesn’t even know it.  We live in a world that needs more soul, more meaning, more consciousness.  Carl Jung once said that our greatest sin is unconsciousness and I agree. Only when you are unconscious of your true nature as soul can you bring harm to another.

The world is demanding that we become more conscious and the way this is happening is through the experience of duality: right and wrong, positive and negative, good and evil. We cannot know unity without first knowing duality and the purpose that these opposites serve.  The negativity we are experiencing is necessary to energize the positive developments in life. Greater inclusiveness is stimulated by separateness; violence and hate, stimulate the drive toward peace and love; experiencing victimhood activates a drive toward personal power and so on.

It is through the negative, the separateness, the ugliness etc. that we learn what we need to learn to eventually lead us to the positive, the wholeness, the beauty and unity that can be experienced in soul consciousness.  This is the normal and natural route of developing awareness and consciousness and this is where we are now headed.

I’m on a mission to bring more soul into the world through my messages on this blog and in my life. Each one of us as conscious beings have this same responsibility.  Start with yourself by doing your healing work in your personal life to be more conscious, present and whole and then be a source of hope and inspiration to your family and your community.  Let’s all do our part to bring healing, harmony and greater consciousness to our world. As we grow in soul consciousness, we will grow in love and everything around us will reflect this change within us.

Journey to Wholeness

2020wheel

The circle is the perfect symbol for this New Year and New Decade as it represents the journey of Wholeness that we are all on.

Symbols are brought into our lives to awaken our soul to universal truths and teach us lessons we need to learn. The circle symbol teaches us about:

Divinity
Unity
Infinity
Inclusion
Centering
Completion
Wholeness

I came across this circle while visiting family in Alabama on New Year’s Day and it reminded me about my own journey and how far I’ve come and how far I will go.

Look for the circles in your own life and in nature and pause to reflect to take in their meaning.

What do you need to complete?  What will make your life more Whole?

I’m excited about this year and the many creative pursuits I’ll be working on centered around this theme of Wholeness.

May 2020 and beyond bring you much Joy, Goodness, Creative Expression and Completion.

The Soul is in the Subtle

subtle meditation

If you want to know your soul you have to become familiar with the subtle. The subtle is not obvious and we may spend our whole lifetime unaware and unattuned to our subtle energies. You can’t experience what you don’t know exists so you need to first know that you have a subtle body and practice sensing it.

To sense the subtle you have to get quiet and listen within. When you can quiet the mind and emotions then you can start to sense and communicate with the subtle energy of the body.

Through mediation, yoga practice or just sitting still, become curious and observe the following:

Breath – close your eyes and feel yourself breathe; listen to the sound of the breath.

Physical Sensations – notice and pay attention to physical sensations in the body as they arise. The body never lies and tuning your awareness to the subtle sensations in the body can reveal to you places you may need to pay attention and nurture with your awareness. Feel and register the heartbeat becoming aware of your heart space. What sensations do you feel?

Emotions – the subtle body is also known as the emotional body; feel what arisis and be with those emotions without judgment from the mind. What are the deeper, more subtle feelings underneath the surface emotions? Spend time here and just be curious.

Energy – sense your overall energy within and around you. If you ever felt the feeling of being physically and emotionally transformed after going to a yoga class, it was because of the energy that was activated in the subtle body. The combination of awakening feelings, physical sensations and higher quality breathing (prana) effects your overall energy for increased well-being, harmony and homeostasis.

Once you are aware of the subtle energies, you can work with them to enhance your well-being and the well-being others. The world of subtle energy opens our minds to the truths we know in our heart and soul. Train yourself to feel the subtle energies daily and work with and learn to control your thoughts and emotions so that you are no longer reacting from a place of fear but coming from a more aware and awake place where you can respond consciously.

I’m much more interested in developing the subtle rather than losing myself in the obvious. It takes a conscious choice and a desire for more depth in your life. It takes reverence and appreciation for the subtle. Subtle awareness leads to Soul Awareness and subtle energy ignites Soul energy.

Breathe, Feel, Sense, Become More Whole and Know your Soul.  The Soul is in the subtle.

Why Wait?

IMG_4696Playing with Crow Pose Yoga on this foot stool while my coffee is brewing…

I’ve given up the concept of “waiting around” and instead always try to do something more fun, meaningful and or productive during those 30 to however many seconds or minutes spent waiting every day.  No matter if it’s waiting for your coffee to brew, at a redlight, in a grocery line, at the airport, etc… There are so many other things we can do instead of just wait and I want to

DO SOMETHING OTHER THAN LOOK AT MY PHONE, because I already do that enough.

Here are somethings you can do instead:

  • Read a book – This is especially good if you have a long wait like Jury Duty.  Reading can help you relax and it’s great to use your imagination.  I’ve been making it a habit to keep a book in my bag wherever I go.
  • Stretch – I can never get enough stretching in.  It feels so good to move the body in this way and release tension from your muscles.
  • Dance – Move your body and forget about if anyone is watching. You may inspire them to move also.
  • Sing – Express yourself and sing out loud.  Singing always makes me feel uplifted.
  • Pray/Meditate – take a moment to be still, go within and connect.  Offer a prayer or reflect on a word/mantra/bible verse that has significant meaning to you.
  • Think about and visualize your goals – use this time to check in with yourself on where you’re at with completing any goals you may have set.  Visualize your goals being met.
  • Talk to someone – Maybe even start up a conversation with a stranger.  Don’t be afraid to make a new friend (the ole fashion way).
  • Look for beauty around you – There is always something beautiful to appreciate. Look around you see something with new eyes.  Beauty is everywhere if we just look.
  • Think about what you’re grateful for – One of my favorite things to do is to make a gratitude list.  This will boost your mood and bring more good things into your life.
  • Write something, maybe even a poem – you don’t have to be a poet, just write something beautiful and or meaningful to you.  Write from the heart.
  • Make eye-contact with someone and give them a smile – We don’t look at each other anymore.  Our faces are usually buried in our phones.  Why not, look someone in the eye and give a friendly smile.  You never know who you might connect with and how this would change both of your days.
  • Breathe – Bring awareness to your breathing and you will cultivate being more calm and peaceful in every moment.

You never have to wait again; instead fill those moments with meaningful activity.  You’ll feel more connected and your Soul will appreciate it.

Tracy
